Read Daniel & Liam's story
Daniel, or DB as he prefers to be called, was 17 years old when he applied for the Traineeship.
DB struggled at school, and met Well Grounded through a recruitment day at Arsenal Football club’s youth employment programme. After graduating he started his first role as Barista at Bench. In 2021 he secured the position of Supervisor at the new UCL x Well Grounded cafe.
In 2024 he introduced his brother Liam to Well Grounded. Liam had not worked previously and was mostly at home ‘playing video games and surviving’ as he puts it.
Speaking about his experience at our Graduation event, Liam shared that “everything has changed for me since I started the course, growing in motivation, confidence and becoming more sociable.”
After completing his work placement at the British Medical Association coffee bar, Liam was offered a role as a General Assistant at the Tower of London. He is now working full time at The Royal Opera House.
DB and Liam are incredible assets to the hospitality industry and to their families.
